Rainy Day Vibes

Parma street art on a rainy day

Yesterday was the first rainy day I’ve experienced in almost 3 months. It made me so so excited for cooler weather. I walked around in the misty drizzle, wore pants instead of shorts (!!!), I started weaving a bracelet for myself on a handmade loom from my uncle— I haven’t woven anything in months because my hands are too sweaty— I reached out to 2 people who I’ve been meaning to contact for a while… it just felt like I was renewed with the rain.

I feel really excited about the future. I can’t wait to start my new job in a couple weeks, I can’t wait for shops around me to start opening and/or having normal hours (damn these Italians and their commitment to leisure), I’m excited to start wearing jackets, and I could not be any more pumped to stop sweating all. the. time.

Today, I woke up to the sound of church bells ringing. My apartment is on a street sandwiched between two churches at either end of the road and since today was Ferragosto aka the Assumption of Mary, church bells were a’ringin’ on and off for hours. I guess that sounds annoying, but it was actually really nice

It’s just a great feeling right now and I know that tomorrow it’ll be 90 degrees and I’ll be a swampy mess but for now, everything’s coming up Sara.
